Concern by MonaxLisa: Great Wholesome Inexperienced Salad Recipe?
I’m striving to try to eat a tiny much healthier so I’m searching for a excellent healthier green salad recipe that is not gonna price me a ton of funds (artichoke hearts, goat cheese, and so on) I manufactured a salad with just lettuce, cucumbers and radishes topped with a little tuna but may possibly have been the least filling factor I have ever eaten! Any ideas?

What sort of cabbage do you have? If it really is strong main head cabbage (the most frequent sort) then I would saute/braise the cabbage with balsamic or some other kind of vinegar, toast the sunflower seeds, and toss them with each other.
Beyond that, I’d search the components into a internet site like epicurious.com or something similar.

I've been using Marzetti's Slaw Dressing for years. In fact, it's the secret ingredient in my coleslaw and potato salad recipes. (Don't tell!) Anytime my husband tastes potato salad that's made by someone besides me, he whispers in my ear, "Yours is better." Same with coleslaw. That's how I know that Marzetti's dressing helps me make the best coleslaw and potato salad anywhere. My only fear is that the company will stop making it since it's been around for so long and so many companies tend to create "new and improved" versions of favorites that might be new, but they're definitely not improved. This one is perfect just the way it is!I'm glad to find this product here on Amazon since sometimes it's hard to find in my two local grocery stores. Just today, it was missing from the shelf at my favorite store and I let the manager know that I was looking for it. He promised to try to get it again and I hope he keeps that promise. I'm getting hungry for potato salad and my last jar is just about empty! UPDATE 5/5/2012: The ingredient list from my jar of Marzetti's Slaw Dressing (The Original, All Natural) is as follows: Soybean oil, sugar, corn-cider vinegar, water, egg yolk, salt, mustard seed, xanathan gum, natural rosemary extract. There is no high-fructose corn syrup in this. Always read labels! By Wolf Sis "Wolfsisbarb" (California) - See all my reviews

Mock Bok Choy Cabbage Salad
3 oz ramen noodle soup mix – Oriental flavor
¼ cup salted sunflower seeds
¼ cup slivered almonds
3 Tbsp. butter
2/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
1/3 cup cider vinegar
2½ Tbsp. sugar (or 4 packets Splenda)
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
½ head of cabbage, sliced very thinly
2 shredded carrots (or sub 2 bags of cole slaw mix for cabbage and carrots)
5-6 green onions, sliced diagonally
Remove flavor pack from soup, set aside. Melt butter in small nonstick skillet. Break ramen noodles into pieces and place in skillet with butter; add sunflower seeds and almonds, and saute 5-8 min or until toasted, stirring occasionally. Drain on paper plate or paper towel.
Whisk flavor pack, oil, vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce in bowl until blended.
Place cabbage and carrots in a large bowl, add sliced onions. Mix dressing into cabbage mix. Place noodle mix around the outside edge of cabbage. (Makes a nice presentation, but for our family I just toss it all together).
(If you need a large quantity, use the big bag of coleslaw mix from Sams and doubled the other ingredients.)
