Great!,

I've been wanting to grow sprouts at home, so I thought this would be a great way to go. First off, 1 pound is a lot of sprout seeds! This will last me a very long time. The variety is wonderful, mixing traditional alfalfa with lentil, fenugreek, clover & others. It's a nice, tangy mix.
They did not come with instructions, so I contacted the seller so I could grow them properly. They responded very quickly with the following instructions:
Basic Jar Sprouting Directions:
1. Soak the seeds in the jar. Put 1 to 4 tablespoons of seed in the jar. Add water and soak overnight about 8 to 10 hours. Most seeds can be soaked for 24 hours with a water change in the middle at 12 hours.
2. After you have soaked the seeds, drain out the water, making certain there are only wet seeds left in the jar, no standing water.
3. Rinse the seeds with fresh water, drain out the water, making certain there are only wet seeds left in the jar, no standing water.
4. Twice each day, rinse the seeds with fresh water, drain out the excess water, making certain there are only wet seeds left in the jar, no standing water.
5. Bean and grains are ready in about two days. Greens are ready in about 5 to 7 days. Gelatinous seeds do not do well in jars. Grasses, sunflowers, buckwheat and peas for shoots do better in trays.
I started with 2 tablespoons of seeds which filled my 1 liter sprouting jar. They are very crunchy and tasty.
I highly recommend this vendor as well as this product. I look forward to purchasing other types of sprouts from this vendor in the future.

I thought, "Well, I'll try them." There are so many types of seeds in this mix, I wondered if they would play well together. I mean, would they germinate properly as a mix? Different seeds take differing amounts of time, and I half expected half of the seeds to be unsprouted or barely sprouted while others were ready for harvest. You needn't worry about the germination rate, though.
I keep my sprouts out of light, and most of the time I grow them for four days, including the initial soaking. These I do in three and a half days. The daikon radish can get pretty strong, or even bitter if you let them grow too long.
Excellent germination rate. OK, I haven't actually counted, but it's pretty close to 100%. It's a tasty mix, too. The clover is a mild base flavor, as are the lentils, though they taste different, of course. The cabbage gives a little astringency, and the radish gives it a little bite. I can't really say about the fenugreek. I don't know what it tastes like in general, but all of them together make a nice little choir.
Like veggies? You'll love these!

I was new to sprouting so I tried the "sampler" and this is one of the blends I liked the best. It has a nice mix of "larger" sprouts (lentil) and "smaller" sprouts (fenugreek etc.) I like to use it in salads. Very tasty!
If you're new to sprouting, I highly recommend the sampler and the "Easy Sprouter".
